final blog...

I have an ENGL150 class at UNL this semester. This is a lesson that is very helpful to me. My professor Crystal Bock is a very patient person. In a short semester, she taught me a lot of knowledge about writing. At the beginning of the English class, I was not keen on writing, I did not know anything about the format and requirements of a particular essay, but at the completion of my second essay, the professor remarked in great detail on my first draft which I made a variety of mistakes. Because I am an international student, I am not particularly skilled at grasping some grammatical knowledge. I often make some grammatical mistakes in my writing, like common slices. The professor spotted the problem, and in the next day's class gave a specific account of the problem and came up with a very detailed solution, from which I learned a lot of effective advice. As well as the time to write the concept essay, the professor gave us a number of specialized data to reference, these have a ...

ethical egoism

in this blog, I am going to explaining the concepts essay - ethical egoism. Ethical egoism is the prescriptive doctrine that all persons ought to act from their own self-interest. This concept is a term I used to learn philosophy lessons. I think this term is very strange and very difficult to understand. But this concept is very interesting after I understood it. This concept allows me to understand that all things in the world are relative, there is no absolute right or wrong, each person's response to the same thing may be inconsistent with the ideological differences. I chose this concept is because many people know very little about the discipline of philosophy. In many people's mind, philosophy is very esoteric and difficult to understand. And philosophy is very far away from real life. however, there is a disadvantage in the concept. the ethical egoism is too broad for my classmates and the people who have never touched the knowledge of the are...

cannibalism it still exsists

I chose this article because it was very appealing from the title - Cannibalism: It still exists. The author of this essay is Linh Kieu Ngo, who described a horrifying story to the audience. In an accident, a group of people lost their direction in the sea and lost contact with the outside world. When the living resources are exhausted, the people on board are forced to survive the pressure to make a terrorist act, they began to eat the companion's bodies. The author gave some examples on it. In an incident in Japan, the Japanese army died in order to avoid hunger, eating the northeastern part of New Guinea's Arapesh people, the American history of the cute example from the California Dona party survivors diaries, letters and interviews, they Winter trapped in a snowy mountain for five months. Thirty-five of the eighty-seven adults and children were killed, some of whom were eaten. In Miyanmin society, they practice both endocannibalism and exocannibalism. so they hunt people....

plan

图片
in the observation essay, there are five points in my plan. to start with, the place I selected is the Dairy Store, which located in the UNL east campus. the reason why I am so interested in is that it offers premium handmade dairy products as part of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln since 1917. actually, I have been there once at the beginning of the last semester, and the ice cream was so tasty. the person I decided to interview is the manager of the dairy store. his name is Leroy, He is a very humorous white man, has a pair of small and sly eyes, and he is nearly two meters tall. on the last Friday, October 6th, I searched the information from the school website,  https://dairystore.unl.edu/welcome , and I made an appointment for the interview by calling. in the second step, I've already prepared several questions for the future interview in the dairy store. like, how the cheese is made? and where to deposit it? how many flavors of ice cream the store ...

observation

I decided to go to the union and choose one of the restaurants on the second floor as the observation position. I ordered a bubble tea, and sit in the center of the rest area. Most people with their friends were sitting in the dining area, enjoying their dinner and chatting happily. I looked around to find my target. After a few minutes, I saw a middle-aged man wearing yellow clothes, carrying a gray vacuum cleaner. It made me very surprised because I never noticed how the restaurant was cleaned. Just when I was ready to start watching, there was a situation that made me very embarrassing, and there was a waiter dressed in red clothes from time to time around me. At that time, I did not care, and when I drank pearl milk tea, he suddenly walked quickly to the table, a pair of milky white rubber gloves appeared in front of me, I was shocked, looked up and saw a pair of brown eyes, and with brown curly hair waiter, because there is no reaction, I just kept looking at him, he was like a v...

A Gringo in the Lettuce Fields

I think A Gringo in the Lettuce Fields is particularly interesting when we were discussing in the class.  This article is mainly about a New York Times author-Gabriel Thompson, in his first visit to the United States on the Mexican border field, observing and learning how to cut vegetables. The author describes in very detail how his companions cut lettuce.  in this observation, he saw every few seconds, Manuel bends over and grabs a head of lettuce with his left hand and cuts the lettuce with his right hand and separates the lettuce from the root.  Next, he picked up the lettuce, cut the second cut, and trimmed the trunk.  He shook the lettuce and let the outer leaves fall to the ground.  He took the blade in his hand, then brought the lettuce to his waist, and with a flick of his wrist, the head was wrapped and landed on the machine.  And then the author started the first attempt as a participator, At the beginning of the time, the author the action...
